Greeting
The East Asian Sport Sociology Forum 2027, also known as the 2nd East Asian Forum for the Sociology of Sport, will be held at Meiji University Surugadai Campus on February 27–28, 2027 for the main forum and research presentations, followed by the JSSS Annual Conference on March 1, 2027.
The 1st East Asian Sport Sociology Forum was held in Taiwan in 2024, bringing together researchers and graduate students, mainly from East Asia, and providing a valuable opportunity for active academic exchange. Building on the success of the first forum, the second forum will be held in Tokyo. The aim of this forum is to further strengthen academic exchange among researchers and graduate students in the field of sport sociology, not only from East Asia but also from around the world. It will provide an important opportunity to share the latest research findings, discuss emerging issues, and deepen collaborative networks in the field of sport sociology.
We warmly welcome the participation of researchers, graduate students, and practitioners not only in sport sociology but also in related fields. In particular, we strongly encourage the active participation of early-career researchers and graduate students. We are confident that this forum will serve as a valuable platform for the next generation of sport sociology researchers in East Asia. Further details regarding the forum theme, call for presentations, registration, program, and other information will be announced in due course.
We look forward to welcoming you to Tokyo in 2027.
